the Safari new version is twice more rapid

webkit Webkit is the name of the project of Apple derived from the engine KHTML that is the Konqueror base; Safari has his base in this project that is open source, in fact it is identical to the final version, only that Webkit is free for the developers and the people who wants “to risk” to use during the phase beta beta. Today, reading an article in ComputerWorld, I found out that the Safari new version was going to be even twice more rapid than the current one. Safari is more rapid than Firefox, and I believed that with that it was sufficient, but not, Apple was not content with that and now they want to make everything even more rapid. I did not remain with the doubt and went to unload the last available version (r30090) to see if there was true everything what they were saying. The installation is like that of any application in Mac, it is necessary only to drag and I list. On having loaded the application, the interface is identical to that of Safari; both navigators can coexist without any conflict in addition to which Webkit imports all the preferences of the navigator to defect of Mac OS X. The real difference is in the load time and it is that seriously that Webkit demolishes in comparison to Safari. There are even a few scripts to measure the yield and in many cases, they throw that the new version is even twice more rapid. With a test called SlickSpeed it is possible to see how Safari remains much behind of Webkit after tests are carried out with several JavaScript elements. Another positive factor is that the resources consumption, especially of memory RAM it is very low in comparison to Firefox, which it consumes three times more than Webkit. For the time being it is a test version but in the moment that I have been using it, hung it has not even presented any problem; I hope Apple liberates soon the new version of the navigator. Here they have a small video of the time of load experimenting with the blog ^ _ ^. The difference is evident much more on heavier pages but I believe that one manages to perceive a little the speed. If the doubts, Webkit is that of the left, Safari to the right. On having done the test, the second blog which I tried to enter played me badly and for any reason the page did not appear so this detail was to prove the speed on the error pages haha =).
