Has finally reached the sentence for former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. After a long trial that lasted more than a year, it was decided that Hussein must die by hanging. The verdict was given after Saddam was found guilty of "crimes against humanity." It has also been declared the death penalty to his half-brother Barzan Tikriti and to Awad Hamad al Bandar.

Although there is still no date for the execution of the sentence, Hussein's lawyers have 30 days to appeal the sentence, a period in which allegations and evidence presented to try to lessen the severity of the punishment.

During the sentencing, Hussein was defiant and without any hesitation, he heard the decision of the court, but not before pronouncing 'Allah is great' and holding the Koran in his hand [see video].

Earlier, Saddam had asked to be shot in front of a platoon, but the special tribunal decided that the hanging would be the method to be used for killing of the former Iraqi dictator.

As expected, the chiís, British and Americans welcomed the conviction, but countries such as Spain, Russia, Italy and France have reprobate the sentence and have shown their opposition to capital punishment under any circumstances.

I'm staying with a phrase that very sanity and that he agreed with my opinion:

The more explicit was the PP spokesman Gustavo de Arístegui: "We stand for justice, not revenge."

Killing a dictator, murderer of thousands of people is not it do exactly the same?. Then the trial would be meaningless; kill the murderer is behaving like one, and then we do not get anything. What the U.S. seeks in Iraq, in addition to the large oil resources, and revenge is not touting as freedom.
